The West Country Historic Omnibus and Transport Trust (WHOTT) was founded at a meeting in Somerset on 10 October 1998 and was incorporated as a company limited by guarantee on 26 May 1999 (Registered in England No. 3780463). On 26 March 2000, the Trust was awarded charitable status (Registration No. 1079795) based on its objects as set out in the Company's Memorandum and Articles of Association, as follows:
Policies and Procedures
WHOTT's Trustees are striving to ensure that the organisation is properly constituted and endowed to provide for the very long term preservation of our West Country bus and commercial road transport heritage. To help the Trust achieve its aims, WHOTT obtains advice from the Arts Council, England (www.artscouncil.org.uk), formerly the Museums, Libraries and Archives South West (MLASW), the Association of Independent Museums (www.aim-museums.co.uk), and the National Association of Road Transport Museums (www.nartm.org.uk).
